The Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster was identified as a sector of the future, along with its supporting sectors, from four strategic areas determined as a result of a competitive analysis conducted in 2007 in the Ostim Organized Industrial Zone, and it started its activities with infrastructure development efforts from 2009 onwards.
Based on the current state of the sector, an examination of the structure of firms operating in the field of renewable energy and environmental technologies within the Ostim Organized Industrial Zone reveals firms with different profiles. Firstly, there are firms directly involved in energy production; secondly, firms that produce in related and supporting sectors but have redirected their investments to the energy sector in line with the increase in the sector's added value and developments in legal regulations; and thirdly, firms that are present to monitor the sector and make future plans.
Our aim as the Ostim Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies Cluster is to increase the production capabilities, national/international competitiveness, and market share of Ostim-based local producers in the renewable energy and environmental technologies sector by creating a facilitating and guiding platform that enhances cooperation and synergy among all stakeholders in the sector, thereby reducing our country's dependence on foreign sources and transforming Ostim into a production center for energy technologies.
Within the framework of this mission, our strategies are:
- To increase the awareness of our member companies regarding the sector and the opportunities/innovations/developments it contains,
- To increase investments and collaborations related to the sector,
- To increase university-industry collaborations (knowledge transfer),
- To increase commercialization and dissemination activities by accelerating all processes related to the transformation of knowledge into products,
- To support the regulation of legislation and laws related to the development of the sector and to develop new proposals,
- To increase international collaborations. We carry out our activities within the framework of the business plans that underlie each of our strategies.
